Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Support Service Area Manager, to join an established Support Services organisation where you will be managing the area to ensure the highest service delivery to the organisation and it's clients.

As a Support Service Area Manager, you will be: 
  • Managing area operations and resources with a strong focus on delivering exceptional levels of customer service
  • Providing active leadership to the management team in your area of responsibility, focussing upon compliance and the achievement of ongoing positive outcomes.
  • Undertake the role and responsibilities of a Registered Manager with Social Care Wales, ensuring services remain compliant and ensuring the compliance of the agency overall.
  • Ensuring staff performance is managed effectively in relation to direct line-management processes in accordance to company policy and procedures.
  • Building positive relations between the company and stakeholders, either directly or through supporting and enabling good relations with local authorities.
  • Ensure services are working towards relevant aims and objectives arising from national, local and service-specific goals and performance indicators.
  • Encouraging communication throughout the organisation and promoting a community atmosphere.
  • Prepare, agree and monitor annual budgets for the services in liaison with both Finance and the Regional Director.
  • Dealing with any enquiries concerning all aspects of the management within the organisation
  • Ensure that all responsibilities and tasks must be carried out in compliance with the Social Care Wales’ Code of Practice and specified regulations, contracts and service specifications.

  • Experience of working with people with learning disabilities, mental health needs, older people and/or people with autism or other support needs in a paid or voluntary capacity
  • Previous supervisory or management experience
  • Experience of liaising and working in partnership with a range of agencies and parties
  • Experience of leading meetings and holding supervisions
  • NVQ 4/QCF5 in Health and Social Care or the ability and willingness to gain the equivalent qualification under the QCF within agreed timescales 
  • Knowledge of positive approaches to the management of behaviour
  • The ability to provide direction for staff and managers through supervision and team meetings and delegation of work
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • The ability to use IT and other technology effectively (Minimum Level 2 IT skills)
  • Time management and organisation skills and the ability to manage conflicting priorities
To be considered for the Support Service Area Manager, you must have:
  • Willingness to work from bases throughout North Wales and from their Bangor Office.
  • Willingness to travel to meet with service users and external agencies and attend internal and external meetings throughout Wales
  • A valid driving licence, the use of own vehicle and with MOT, road tax and appropriate level of insurance
  • Commitment to work professionally and loyally to promote its charitable and cooperative missions and values at all times
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends and public holidays, provide on call duties as required
  • The ability to communicate through the medium of Welsh
This is a full-time, permanent position working 37 hours a week providing flexibility of home-working with 1 or 2 days in the office based in Bangor. In return you will be offered a salary of between £32,000 to £37,300 per annum dependant on skills and experience.
